According to Totaljobs, women expect £5,597 less than men in their annual pay. This is all part of a wider problem they call the gender pay trap – a vicious cycle of gender bias in the workplace, from job ads using gendered language to only 1 in 10 people being able to define what the gender pay gap even is.
But it’s not all doom and gloom, Totaljobs in partnership with Beyond Words Studio has gathered research and built an interactive story on workplace bias and how to break out of it.
What’s more, they’ve also created this handy tool to check whether you’re using gendered language in your job ads.
